By having a child well-being plan in place, makes a plan for how we can help children, their families and their communities in the best possible way, that directly supports each child's individuality and uniqueness. Childrenβs relationships with teachers and educators, and other children, are important. Relationships support children's current and future learning and development.
They also support wellbeing and secure attachments.
Secure attachments bring:
1. Emotional warmth and security
2. Confidence to explore
3. Autonomy
4. Positive expectations and ideas about future relationships.
Learning to express and regulate emotions is a skill that children develop over time. They learn through trial and error and with the support of the adults around them.
Woodlands suggest that the child well-being plan is used to guide conversations about a child with their parent/guardian to help identify their strengths and manage their wellbeing when they feel things are tough. This ensures safe and supportive conversations within the environment for the family and children, so they are aware that we are here to support them in any way that they need to ensure their children's learning development and social and emotional regulation skills are a priority.
This document is a follow on from the behaviour analysis plans that are in place and are regularly being reflected on by the Teacher/Educators in the room with the child, the document are located on Playground. This is included on the 2nd last page of the visual guide:
