There are different amount of hours that Centrelink can approve; these are:

  • 24
  • 36
  • 72
  • 100

(Please keep in mind, hours are all on a fortnightly basis)

1) If a family have been given 100 hours:

  • Best Outcome: x5 (full-time) on a 10 hour daily session
  • Alternatively: Any other amount of days can still be automatically put on a 10 hour daily session without problem.

2) If a family have been given 72 hours:

  • Best Outcome: 4 days on a 9 hour daily session
  • Alternatively: 3 days on a 10 hour daily session
  • Any lesser amount of days can automatically be put on a 10 hour daily session without a problem.
  • If 5 days (full-time) is required this will result in either a full daily fee applying or Centrelink reducing the amount of CCS each day (this is up to Centrelinkโ€™s discretion).

3) If a family have been given 36 hours:

  • Best Outcome: 2 days on a 9 hour daily session (results in a lesser gap payment)
  • Alternatively: 3 days on a 6 hour daily session (results in a higher gap payment.
  • Any additional days will result in either a full daily fee applying or Centrelink reducing the amount of CCS each day (this is up to Centrelinkโ€™s discretion).

4) If a family has been given 24 hours:

  • Best Outcome: 1 day on a 10 hour daily session (results in a lesser gap payment)
  • Alternatively:  2 days on a 6 hour daily session (results in a higher gap payment)
  • Any additional days will result in either a full day fee applying or Centrelink reducing the amount of CCS each day (this is up to Centrelinkโ€™s discretion).
