It is a way to collate visual evidence of each child's achievements and learning that links to their individual goals throughout the year.

Children's learning journey scrapbooks need to be accessible to all children and families as it will ensure that children's voices (verbal and non-verbal) are heard and documented in a way that children can see, contribute to as well as understand.
It is a form of reflecting and a way to observe/document that can be linked to the active planning that is happening through group and individual learning.

Children's Learning Journey scrapbooks offer the opportunity for parents to see their child’s developmental progress in action and gain an understanding of what their child’s experiences are away from home, families are able to provide feedback on the Learning journey scrapbooks.

This is a way that supports sustainability practices to minimise the use of paper.

They can be used as a a reflective tool of children's learning that clarifies where their learning is going, what is the children creating through their interests.

❌ What will it NOT include?

  • Excessive learning printed out directly from Playground, families have access to playground. The scrap books are for children to have direct access to their own learning as it is unfolding, as well as families being able to come in and see their child/ren's learning when they want to.
  • An over load of written documentation- remember this is for the child.
  • The families cannot take it home for excessive periods of time, we don't want it lost or never returned.
